Boomer Bonanza

I sin bog ”Re-imagine!” har Tom Peters et kapitel omkring Baby Boomere. Her skriver han bl.a.:

”If you remember nothing else from this chapter, please remember the following set of simple stats. In the United States, between 2002 and 2008….

The number of people between 18 and 44 years will decline by 1 percent.

The number of people aged 55 and older will increase by 21 percent.

In particular….and here we face….the Ultimate Marketing Tsunami…. The number of people between 55 and 65 will increase by … 47 percent.

The only proper response to numbers like these: Holy shit!

Review the numbers – and ad that the group controls the vast majority of wealth and discretionary income, then … it is the market.

Which is not to say that my argument here is “about” marketing. Rather: It is about marketing… and product development…. and service …. and distribution…. and branding… and strategy!”.
